Pelatihan Menulis Puisi untuk Siswa SMA PGRI Kasihan Yogyakarta

Abstrak

Poetry writing training is a strategic effort to improve high school students' creative expression skills and language competence, particularly in the context of Indonesian Language and Literature learning. This community service activity was carried out in October 2025 and was designed to provide an active learning experience through an interactive training approach that emphasised understanding structure, using aesthetic language, and expressing ideas through poetry. The training methods included demonstrations of poetry writing techniques, discussions of works, and direct guidance from facilitators to students at PGRI Kasihan Yogyakarta High School. The results showed an increase in participants' understanding of poetry writing techniques, an increase in their ability to express ideas creatively, and positive responses to activities that focused on hands-on practice. These findings are in line with research findings showing that poetry writing training is effective in significantly developing students' interest, creativity, and writing skills.
