Edukasi Nilai Sumpah Pemuda Melalui Workshop Komik Digital pada Siswa SMA

Abstrak

The decline in the internalisation of national values among Generation Z, driven by the dominance of foreign digital content, poses a serious challenge to character education. This study aims to educate students at Charis Christian Senior High School Malang on the values of the Youth Pledge (Sumpah Pemuda) through digital comics. The implementation method employed a participatory workshop based on ‘learning-by-creating’ principles, involving 123 students. Data were collected via pre-tests, post-tests, observations, and an evaluation of creative outputs produced using the Canva application. Results indicated a significant improvement in the understanding of national values (rising from 45% to 85%) and technical visual storytelling skills (from 25% to 90%). The findings confirm that digital comics serve as an effective narrative bridge, transforming historical understanding from mere rote memorisation into personal visual interpretation. In conclusion, integrating digital technology with historical milestones enhances both literacy and nationalism interactively. This workshop provides a novel model for character education that resonates with the characteristics of digital natives.
